How to Track Every Game of a Flag Football Tournament Weekend

A flag football tournament weekend is a lot of football in very little time. Games run back to back, fields sit side by side, and your team might play four times before lunch. It's also where a lot of the season's best moments happen, which makes it the worst place to lose your stats.
Here's how to plan a tournament weekend so every game gets tracked.
Before the weekend
Set up the tournament. In Blitz Board Stats you can host a tournament or join one, invite teams, and schedule the games. If your season is short, or the tournament is the season, a one-month tournament plan covers it.
Lock the roster. A statistician can only track players who are on the roster. Check every name and jersey number before you leave home, and add anyone who's missing. It's a lot harder to fix from a parking lot.
Pick your statistician, and a backup. Tournaments are long days. Choose one statistician per game, and have a second person assigned and ready in case the first needs a break between games. Just remember: one person tracks each game, never two at once.
Practice once. Every new account includes a free test game. If your statistician is new, a quick run-through at practice makes game one feel familiar. The in-app Tour and Show Hints help too.
On game day
- Charge everything. Bring a power bank. Tracking several games in a row drains a phone faster than you'd think.
- Get set up during warm-ups, not at kickoff.
- Log plays as they happen. Back-to-back games blur together, and stats from memory are where mistakes come from.
- Use notes. If you log a play wrong, add a note right away and fix it during or after the game.
- Tap End Game, then review the summary before the next game starts, while it's still fresh.
When the field Wi-Fi gives out
Big tournament sites often mean crowded cell signal. The good news: if your connection drops, keep tracking. Blitz Board Stats stores the plays you log and saves them once the connection is back, so a dead zone doesn't cost you a drive.
If the app still doesn't reconnect, work through these in order:
- Close and reopen the app.
- Refresh the page, or log out and back in.
- Toggle Wi-Fi or cellular off and back on.
- Switch networks, for example from venue Wi-Fi to cellular.
- Turn on airplane mode for 10 to 15 seconds, then turn it off.
- Restart your device.
Most signal problems clear up in the first few steps.
After the final whistle
This is where tournament stats pay off. Leaderboards show who led the weekend, families who couldn't make the trip can catch up, and share-ready stat graphics turn a big game into something to post. For athletes trying to get noticed, a strong tournament is part of their season story.
